Sunday, May 23, 2010 has been set for the date for the 2nd edition of the Council Bluffs Half Marathon presented by the Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Daily Nonpareil Newspaper and Harrah’s Casino. Last year’s inaugural far exceeded participation expectations with some 1200 registrants, one of the largest ever 1st year events in the Council Bluffs-Omaha market. Last year runners and walkers from some 16 states and one foreign country participated and organizers will be promoting even more extensively regionally and nationally. Plan to spend the entire weekend in this historic, popular city on the Missouri River.
Highlighting the 2010 event will be a new course as the event has outgrown the scenic running/biking trail traversing through the community last year. The events – a Half Marathon, 5K and 1Mile Fun Run/Walk - will again start and finish at the riverfront Council Bluffs Harrah’s Casino.
